Ginepri and Bowles get Delray Beach wildcards
Former Top 20 player Robby Ginepri and FSU freshman standout Clint Bowles have been given wild cards to the upcoming Delray Beach International Tennis Championships.
Ginepri last played in Delray Beach in 2006 while Bowles earned a wildcard for winning the USTA Boys’ 18 Clay Court National Championship last July, an event that also is played at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center.
Ginepri is trying to regain the form that led to his No. 17 ranking at the end of the 2005 season, one in which he was the No. 3 American behind Andy Roddick and Andre Agassi. The Ft. Lauderdale native has won two ATP titles in his pro career.
The 19-year-old Bowles, the No. 3 player for the 6-0, 17th-ranked Seminoles, will be playing in his first ATP Tournament. He is the only amateur entered in the main draw.
