Davis Cup: Europe/Africa Zone 2nd Round: Israel - Italy

Italy:

Bracciali (5-3), Seppi (6-5), Starace (7-0), Bolelli

Israel:

Okun (15-12), Sela (3-3), Erlich (9-4), Ram (10-7)

---------------------------------------------------------

I think we should win this, but Israel is still difficult and we must be careful. The winner goes to the Davis Cup play-offs in September.

The singles teams after the last weeks should be Starace and Seppi. Both also normally very good for Italy in the Davis Cup. The doubles should be Bracciali and Bolelli, but I think we will definitely lose the doubles to an experienced Erlich/Ram team. However, in the singles we should be able to win 3 of the 4 matches.

All Italian Players

Especially Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini

Juan Martin Del Potro

Roger Federer

Thomas Berdych

Fernando Verdasco

Starace has a 0-3 H2H against Okun: I think Barazzutti had better make Bracciali and Seppi play the singles and Starace/Bolelli for doubles (doubles is lost for sure)...

Hmm that is not good and the last lost was on hard against Okun at the US Open last year so maybe Starace shouldnt play the singles.

Seppi defeated Okun last year 64 62

I hope Seppi can win his 2 singles, then we just need Bracciali or Starace to win 1.

Go Simone

Bracciali is injured...probably he will not play in doubles, too... and Starace also has some problems with his right knee..

Simone has the chance to be a hero now. I think Seppi should win the first match and if Bolelli does the same it'll be all on track

Yep the first day I expect a Seppi win... Bolelli has a very tough oppoent though and well it can go either way, but I have faith with SuperBol.

Seppi is losing 63 53 and its difficult to come back now... not a very good start if Seppi loses, it means we would likely have to win our other 3 singles rubbers which in my opinion is difficult.

Seppi choked... I hope he is never called to the Italian davis cup team again... at least until he learns how to hold to matches and win in big points.
