Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

He's qualified now, good result. Won't be expecting much from him this tournament, second round would be nice, but qualifying itself was good.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

It depends on the draw really, he can probably win 1 match if he plays someone lower in the rankings.

6-1 5-7 5-7
Played Sean Berman, junior AO finalist from last year, was down a break in the third and came back to have MP, didn't convert and was broken in the next game. Then Berman served it out. He also won 6 points more overall. Too bad....

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Nearly winning against a successful juniors player that is 3 years older than him. Good stuff. Looking forward to his progress later on.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

I think he'll probably be a competitor for the junior grandslams next year, which will be against 94's and 95's. Hopefully he can pick up 1 or 2 professional points, and then maybe we'll be able to see a return of teenagers to the men's game.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Yes for the rest of the season he should play mainly junior tournaments and throw in the odd future tournament maybe around the end of the summer time and late in the year.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Looks like he is skipping Wimbledon juniors and instead will play a Grade 2 in Holland. Probably a wise choice as long as he plays well.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Really disappointing result for Quinzi against Simonsson in a Netherlands G2 event. Lost 61 62 in the 2nd round. Got a bye through the 1st round. Seems his form has gone off the boil a little recently, though he hadnt actually played since the end of May aswell.

Up next for Quinzi is a Morocco G2 event next week. Hopefulyl he does better there.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Solid first week in Morocco as he made the semis in singles and won doubles.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Quinzi into the final of a G1 in Morocco. If he finishes runner-up his ranking will go up to 48, but if he wins he'll be at around 38 by my calculations. If he does win he'll be the 9th highest ranked player born after 1994, in other words if he stays there, he should be top 10 once the 93s drop

Italy actually could have 3 top 20 players in juniors next year I think with Donati and Napolitano aswell.

Re: Gianluigi Quinzi

Great win, revenge for last week. Final will be tough against the number 1 seed, Sborowitz.
