Re: The Potito Starace fan club

(11)Marat Safin (RUS) vs Simone Bolelli (ITA)
Potito Starace (ITA) vs Sam Querrey (USA)
Teimuraz Gabashvili (RUS) vs Vincent Spadea (USA)
(8)Juan Ignacio Chela (ARG) bye

Starace's first part of the draw for Barcelona... Winnable first round, even a winnable second round. I hope he and Bolelli go through but then third round is difficult for either (assuming its Chela)

Potito wins the derby against Bolelli, 6-4 6-3
after losing the first 3 games all went in his direction

against Chela next, hard but not impossible

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

A big win today for Potito. Even if he loses to Nadal next the QF of Barcelona is a great achievement for him. His ranking should go up as will his confidence. This could be the year Potito comes of age.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Starace's career has kick start... a very good 3 set win over Ferrero and next Davydenko... if he does somehow beat Davydenko then after is Robredo... as good a chance as any for an Italian to reach the semi-final here... go for it Potito!

However if he did lose to Davydenko Id still count it a good week. Up to 57 currently in the ranking with this win.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Well he has lost to Davydenko, but played very well and was beaten by Davydenko who was at the top of his game. Starace has come on a bit this year and if he can have a good RG and then play a good hard court season he should easily be in the top 50 by the end of the year. He has the abilities to be.
