Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Maybe it is a curse... Starace has lost yesterday to Berdych 62 75. Not a good match for Starace but hopefully its just a minor dip from tiredness or whatever.

Forza Potito

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Wouldnt know, for now I know he enters the San Marino challenger event and faces Mantilla in round 1 and potentially faces Volandri in round 2. Tough draw for him.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

He played one day with his team in Germany. I saw it yesterday on their website. He won his singles and doubles match, but the team lost on both days.

And for San Marino: FORZA POTITO!!

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Potito beat Mantilla in round 1 in 3 sets. Very good win for Starace in a tough match but now faces Volandri which is a big match for Italian standards.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Starace won the battle of Italy in 3 big sets. I think Potito is ready now to rule the world. If he wins this tournament he has a good chance of entering the top 100. Unfortunately too late to qualify automatically to the US Open so he still has to qualify for that anyway but it woul be great for him to be in the top 100.

Another win for Starace against Seppi in 3 sets and he enters the semi finals against Oliver Rochus.

I totally agree with that!

I hope he doesn't have to play against Fred Hemmes in the US Open qualies, because Fred and Potito are both my favourites . It would be great if they both get into the first round .

But for now: Forza Potito!!

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

Hehe, Potito beat Olivier Rochus in 2 sets... but it was a tough match 75 64. Now he is in the final of the San marino challenger v Armando. A big match as if he wins I think he enters the top 100. Which would be his first time.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

He won in 3. Congrats to him, its not official of course but Im sure he goes up to something like 96 or 97 in the world.

The week coming he enters the Trani challenger event and has a possibility of meeting Volandri in the semis. Another good run in this tournament could see him improve his ranking again.

Re: The Potito Starace fan club

He cant think of the semis though. He has a tough draw and he will be tired from a good week this week so you cant expect miracles.

Potito Starace (WC, 3, Ita) vs Jerome Haehnel (Fra);
qualificato vs Alex Bogdanovic (Gbr);
Ivan Navarro Pastor (Esp) vs Salvador Navarro (Esp);
Federico Browne (Arg) vs Tomas Tenconi (8, Ita);

Thats his quarter of the draw. Haehnel is such a tough round 1 match.
