At 2:50 you can see the situation when he twisted his ankle.

Can he really play? Didn't look that bad, but he was in pain.

Re: Get your flags, banners and pom poms ready!!! (The Cheering Thread)

ok, i'm gonna make a guess here...

it looks bad, but :

- he didn't practice, or at least not a full practice on location, he wasn't hanging around in the "allées" at all, so i bet he spent most of his time seeing a doctor and resting the ankle.

- he's still scheduled tomorrow

so : i think it's not THAT bad, and with the proper care he can probably play, now the question is, is he gonna take the risk to make it worse or not ?! i think he will, because if he really didn't feel like it he would have pulled out by now.

i can be wrong of course, but i was a gymnast, i've twisted both my ankles pretty badly multiple times, i've been where he is, and i took my chances... and it has always been for the better ! i wish him the same on that one !

When he was hobbling of the court and when he fell in the line umpire's box, that was the saddest thing. Well, maybe it'll teach him to stay on the baseline.

I found Zhenya's name in a draw! He exists! He WAS seeded #2 in a challenger in Segovia, Spain, but he lost 2nd round to Bautista-Agut (?) in straights. I think this is a new low.

His threads are so dead... gosh ... we need PEEEOOOOPLE !!!

Anyway... well, not that I want to belittle that (put an adjective here > ------) loss, but it seems he's changing raquet, and he played with a new one in Segovia, so ...

I'll post more news about that on the blog as soon as I get to know what's going on exactly.

needs to get a coach. A proper coach honestly so talented its pissing me off he is playing challengers.

Safin - Agassi - Kafelnikov - Kuerten -Soderling - Davydenko - Santoro -Edberg - Novak - Nalbandian - Ivanisevic
You dealin' with a few true villains
Federer - Wawrinka - Nishikori - Del Potro - Mayer - Rublev - Youzhny - Khachanov - Andrey Kuznetsov- Safiullin - Karatsev

He plays some nobody called Sijsling from the Netherlands in New Haven qualies R1.

Whats he like, while I would know most of the names of a WTA qualie list I only follow ATP for the shirtlessness so I'm not exactly up to date on the male player's tennis ability.

Re: Get your flags, banners and pom poms ready!!! (The Cheering Thread)

I'm pretty knowledgeable of the top 150-200 but I have never heard of him. Of course, that's never stopped Zhenya from losing to them.
