well let's hope it's not pure luck and he's finally starting to master it better... although aesthetically his original serve was waaaay better, and proved efficient !

Have tons of fun left how long are you going to stay??

But if I kidnap Daddy, what will my beloved Dima do? What will he do without me? He may even grow that beard again and we can't have that can we?

No seriously - I would if I could, but, sadly, I am going home tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, so not much time left.

Bye from Rome

I can take (very good ) care of Dima for a while, you'll have him back after Hamburg, all shaven and well

Remember: He won't have a chance to grow a beard when i am around

Enjoy your last days in Rome, hun!!!! Looking forward to see your pictures

It's this "very good care" that worries me dear Poor guy will be too tired to play tennis after a week in Hamburg with you

Anyway - I am home- very, VERY tired Have a couple of photos of Zhenya - will try and upload them tomorrow - too tired now But be warned I am NOT a photographer A 9-year-old could probably take better pics than me

And you don't have to worry about him being too tired, i will be very sweet to him ... At least i don't have to chase him with the razor anymore

Re: Get your flags, banners and pom poms ready!!! (The Cheering Thread)

He just won, but he's been struggling really hard ... Seifert is ranked 533 and was leading 5/2 in the first set, while Zhenya was at 44% of first serve ... waaaaay not enough !

final score : 7/6(1) 4/6 6/3
honestly he could have lost... the experience made him go through not the game ! (even though i couldn't watch, it's just obvious)

anyway... we'll may have a Zhenya vs Marat next round... that's gonna be interesting !

I personally think it will be very hard for him to beat Marat I know Marat is poor right now, but I've always found it seems really hard for young players to play an older fellow-countryman, especially one who has achieved so much and become such an "idol" in their home country, as Marat has. I will be cheering for Zhenya though

Re: Get your flags, banners and pom poms ready!!! (The Cheering Thread)

i should have say "technically" instead of "seriously" ! lol
i agree with u, specially considering marat is like his absolute idol ! ... but i truly think tennistically speaking he could beat him, but probably not tomorrow, even though Marat is a mess right now... thing is, Zhenya is a mess too ... he's way behind his real level... so i guess the winner will be the one with the most nerves to hold on despite his own weaknesses...

i'll be cheering for zhenya as well... as always ...

Yes - me too I admit I didn't follow the scoreboard because Nole's match was on TV, - but I'm pleased that the result was so close. It is all great experience for Zhenya
