Just acouple more spots till the top ten.

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

where is he now?

Marat: Last question: what do you think of me? Dinara: You are my god! When you play, I love
to see you. When you lose, I am even sadder than when it is me. When you are wounded, I suffer.
When you speak to me, I drink your words. When you come to see me playing, I am with the angels.

EVGENY KOROLEV
PERSONAL
Raised in Moscow, practicing mostly with his father/coach Evgeny...Mother, Irena, is a housewife, and spends more time in Germany (Munich) than in Moscow now which is more central and easier to travel to and from...Started learning English at age seven with a private tutor...Has also picked up German since moving to Germany...His brother, Alexey (25), is his best friend and works in Moscow...Officially turned pro in 2005 although he he started playing futures two years ago...He skipped the junior circuit at age 15...Enjoys ice hockey and follows NHL...His idol growing up was Pete Sampras...Admires countryman Marat Safin a lot and still thinks Safin can get back to No.1 when fully fit...Considers favorite shot forehand and favorite surface is hard court, despite winning three futures on clay last year...His aim this season is to improve his ranking as much as possible and break into Top 100, eventually aiming to be in Top 10.

Marat: Last question: what do you think of me? Dinara: You are my god! When you play, I love
to see you. When you lose, I am even sadder than when it is me. When you are wounded, I suffer.
When you speak to me, I drink your words. When you come to see me playing, I am with the angels.

Re: Evgueni KOROLEV - future of Russian tennis

Stars on the wane and on the rise

The list of players for the qualifying tournament is as illustrious as ever, comprising a mix of former stars, up-and-coming youngsters and of course some local heroes representing France. Austria’s Stefan Koubek, world no. 20 in 2000, Argentina’s Mariano Zabaleta, ranked 21st in 2000, Irakli Labadze from Georgia, who was 42nd in the world in 2004, Spain’s Alex Calatrava, no. 44 in 2001, South Korea’s Hyung Taik Lee, 52nd in the world in 2003 and Paraguay’s Ramon Delgado, who also reached 52nd in 1999… these players have tumbled down the rankings since their respective hey-days, but see the qualifiers as a chance to relive former glories.

On the other hand, youngsters like 17-year-old Argentinean Juan Martin Del Potro, Evgeny Korolev (18) and Teimuraz Gabashvili (21 on 23 May!) from Russia, Italy’s Simone Bolelli (20), Germany’s Andreas Beck (20) or Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver (20), will be looking to make a name for themselves.

Marat: Last question: what do you think of me? Dinara: You are my god! When you play, I love
to see you. When you lose, I am even sadder than when it is me. When you are wounded, I suffer.
When you speak to me, I drink your words. When you come to see me playing, I am with the angels.
