In fact, given this was a Sunday start and I've got messages that a few other people forgot to enter the draws, am willing to extend the deadline to before play starts ... again only if there are no objections.

Re: FITD 2014 Manager Thread | Where managers meet...

It's not my decision to make, I assume this game has a board to solve stuff like this, but what I would do is I would not count those picks. It's nothing against the posters in particular, I run a draw game elsewhere and the one thing I absolutely frown upon is late picks - and I'll explain why below.

My reasoning for this is that in tennis and any other competition with a draw format, one match is never just one match, its outcome affects the entire draw, and any clue regarding a player's form gives you an advantage over the people who picked on time. Giving 0 points to the Hewitt vs Melzer game is all well and good, but remember that match doesn't happen in isolation, it affects how the subsequent draw in their quarter and half progresses. So yeah, I don't think draws after the first match has started should be accepted under any circumstances, but I don't know if that's the game's policy, though I assume it is.

From the thread:

1. Giving zero pointer in the Hewirr-Melzer and Querrey match is not enough. That match affects the R2 match the winner is in, and henceforth. If one of the R2 players is known, it is much easier to predict the winner as compared to when none are known.

2. If you accept late draws here, you will have to accept a lot more late draws. Even on a Monday start, you will have to accept draws after one or two matches have been played. Where do you draw the line? Is 2 matches over too late? One match? One set? Two games? The most obvious, objective and uncontroversial answer is the start of the MD. If even one ball has been struck, no more draws can be accepted.

Sorry about that See my comments in the thread - I think the start times on flashscore.com are estimated start times. According to the live scoring website I was on, I believe my picks were submitted just in time. But the draws that were submitted after mine were definitely late and unfortunately can't be counted.

I will take Valencia

Re: FITD 2014 Manager Thread | Where managers meet...

All the tournaments have been taken

I think London should be managed by either the manager who took the most tournaments this year or bhamism for his awesome work with the managers' template. But it's their decision too

Re: FITD 2014 Manager Thread | Where managers meet...

^ really no need for anything that elaborate. If someone wants it, just say so and it's yours.
However, it would be nice if people refrain from committing to managing a tournament that is 3 months away. You may end up being busy then and forgetting that you have committed.
