Vancouver is a USTA sanctioned event, hence the reason for providing Americans with WCs. Rimouski is Tennis Canada sanctioned.
Yeah, typically Rimouski gives Canadian WCs, like in 2006 they gave to Bester, Polansky and P-L Duclos.
It's a real shame that Tennis Canada organize only one male professional event at ATP/ITF level every two years in English Canada, and none west of T.O. Even a futures event would help get more Canadian men pro-level experience, and give guys like Pokrajac and Chvojka a better chance to earn some solid points. Calgary, Hamilton and Waterloo have all hosted challenger-level events for women, surely one of these sites could also be capable of hosting a men's tournament?
I wonder why they aren't interested?
