After the final in Noumea to start the season, Cipo has 5 match wins, 3 in ATP qualifying events, and has lost 7 straight matches. His ranking is down to 212 in the world, and he will lose 45 points from Belgrade this week.

Hopefully Flavio can progress past these tough times and make some movements back to the top 100. His next scheduled tournaments are in Madrid qualifying starting tomorrow and then RG qualifying. Good luck to him in future tournaments!

Here is Flavio's draw for the Madrid qualifying:

(1) CHELA, Juan Ignacio ARG v AGUILAR, Jorge CHI
CIPOLLA, Flavio ITA v (13) BOZOLJAC, Ilija SRB

Not a kind draw for Cipo at all. Bozoljac will probably be too much in the state Flavio is in now, and Chela is in a different league entirely. He has 14 pts to defend for a QR2 last year, and that probably isn't going to be defended. His ranking could be really bad within the next month if he doesn't start winning.

Good luck Flavio, hope you prove me wrong and qualify.

Flavio lost 6-2 6-3 and held serve 2 times out of 8 service games in the match. Unfortunately, his lack of a serve or real power is shown up against most ATP players, especially consistent hard hitters of the ball as Chela is. He gained 16 points for winning his first round match, so he doesn't go away with nothing to take away positive from the week, unfortunately he will still lose 20 points and drop down the rankings again next Monday.

Next stop: French Open qualifying.
