Apparantly Pete Sampras has cancelled all the remaining tournaments of this year including the Davidoff Swiss Indoors in Basel. No explicit reasons mentioned.

Whoa!! No way!! Surely not with that awful Wimbly result still out there.

Where did you hear this, btw? That's cutting edge

Got it form our trash paper the Blick. So far nothing written on the web site which is:

http://www.davidoffswissindoors.ch

Just checked some other news sites. (also the one from Swiss-Tennis) They all have it that Sampras won't play any remaining trounament of this year.

Pete can retire right now and his 14 Grand Slam titles will never be surpassed by anyone. Unlikely...

Too bad him not making it to Basel, that would have been a big bonus for me going there...

Yet, when i heard the news, i was not surprised.

Strictly speaking one one is about to pass him, the other one did a couple of years ago At the time I didn't see that one coming either, even though I wondered about about the large difference between the male and the female record. Sampras did play at the same time as Graf, after all. And Graf didn't even beat Court....
