- Andy Roddick is citing a lingering injury in his decision to pull out of a World Team Tennis match on Saturday in St. Louis.
Roddick was scheduled to play for the St. Louis Aces in their match against Kansas City. But Aces General Manager Dani Apted says on Friday that Roddick's injury is too severe for him to play or travel to St. Louis.
In a statement, Roddick says he's been dealing with the injury since mid-May. He says he's seeing a specialist and has been advised not to travel.
He did not specify the injury. A spokeswoman for the Aces says the team does not know any details about the injury.
Roddick was the sixth seed at the recently completed Wimbledon but was upset in the second round. He didn't mention an injury after the loss.
