QF: Sweden vs Argentina

This has the potential to be a close & high-quality tie.

Argentina has proved again that can compete on fast surfaces away from home, and that victory against Australia on grass was no fluke. With Nalbi back and Cañas & Delpo improving every day it's going to be an impressive team.

Sweden though will be the local team and PimPim may be at a high level. Solid singles players and a dependable doubles team would be tough to beat even away (as proved against Belarus), much more so at home.

Discuss anything relevant to this series here.

To our Swedish friends, could you share ticket information when it's available? I'm planning to attend this tie . Do you already know where (city) is it going to be played?

Göteborg is a good place and there will be enough to keep you occupied when you go there.

One tip when you go to eat don't go to the Avenue (main street) cause they charge more for the same thing, not too far away, but they justify the prices to pay for their rent.

As for tickets, once they have submitted the venue to the ITF and then get the arrangements done, it won't be too long before they are released.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: QF: Sweden vs Argentina

I hope PimPim can be back by then, he and Söderling would make a very good indoor team. Not sure how they match up against Nalby though.

I'm sorry, but Argentinian are better, than Sweden on clay and other surfaces too. Is it sure, that Sweden reaches QF? We have I round now.
This is very probable, that Argentina will reach QF, but I am not sure, wheather Sweden will reach QF too.

But you must admit, that now they have not many chances. Deliberation, that they will reach QF are precocious. I like Sweden. This is very nice country and people are very nice. But actually Sweden has not very good players.

News about the surface today: according to Swedish media (textTV) it will be indoor hardcourt.

You seem to set very high standards for "good". Söderling is ranked 25 and he has his best results indoors. PimPim Johansson (hopefully not injured when the tie is due) is a very good indoor player too, one of the five best servers on the tour and was inside top 10 before getting injured for a while, still took out Nadal in Stockholm last year. And there is a doubles player named Björkman - I guess you know about him. Tomas Johansson is dodgy after his eye injury but still with ability on fast surfaces.

Argentina is the favourite but not by much. Nalby isn't in his best shape, Canas still on the way back, JMDP young.

Thanks for the news, oz_boz Do you know when the tickets will be released? I would be interested to go to this tie, but still have to sort out some things before it´s 100% sure!

mtw, Argentina does not have that good players at the moment either. I like the Argentine players a lot as well, but you cannot say that Sweden doesn´t have any good players, this is just not true. Of course they don´t have that many good players as in the past, and maybe the Swedish players are not that consistant as in the past, but both Pim Pim and Robin are normally playing on a high level.

Tommy Robredo David Ferrer Pere Riba Fernando Verdasco

I miss you on tour, Nors, Bjösse, Simon & Pim Pim
