World Group 1st Round: Belarus at Sweden (February 9-11, 2007)

Hopefully a fanatic crowd won´t stop sweden here at all!

Bjorkman hopefully extend his advantage over his friend Max and after that the only possible outcome is a swedish victory.Max can surely win the double and one of the two singles but then there is finito.

Belarus-Sweden 1-4

my guess for a swedish team:
bjorkman
aspelin
t johansson
soderling

where Jonas will play both singles and double and then there is is difficult to tell which of Robin and Thomas will play the other..

Re: Belarus-Sweden

hehe, don´t give up just yet though.

playing at home always put in some greater chances for the home team so i have not starting looking forward to next round already, voltchkov can play good(never forget wimbledon) so the chances i must say is 40/60

Jonas B Svensson-Ivan Lendl 7-6 7-5 6-2

Re: Belarus-Sweden

Don't underestimate the power of the Beast.

Max Mirnyi has never lost in Minsk a single match. And the double Mirnyi-Voltchkov has never lost in Minsk.

70-30 for Belarus.

Re: Belarus-Sweden

Sweden and Belarus have decided to play ice-hockey instead of tennis in DC. The tie is played on an ice-rink anyway. It will make for a more exciting and entertaining match. No boring serve fest! And Belarus' president can join in on the fun, since he's a world renowned hockey player!

Re: Belarus-Sweden

Ok, so the tie won't be played in an ice-rink, but in an indoor football arena. The surface should still be very fast though.
