Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 7/24/07)

Ginepri and Querrey are out as they got WCs to the Main Draw.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 7/24/07)

Yeah, they haven't made changes to the lists yet. Wawrinka is also out to the main draw because Malisse withdrew (that one is official), but it hasn't been changed yet. Massu is reported to be out as well. Hopefully, they do some updates tomorrow.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

I am hoping Noam Okun gets into qualies.

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 7/24/07)

Gosh it would be great to see Noam there.

Okay, the ATP updated the Q entry list:

OUT: Wawrinka, Ginepri, Querrey (to main draw)
IN: Gabashvilli, Kunitsyn
NEXT: Kendrick, Moodie, Dancevic

Frank deserves to be in the MD without playing qualies

Tentative Wildcards: Odesnik, Gulbis, Fleishman. Last one held for now. Not official yet, but my source is pretty good.

OUT: HT Lee
IN: Kendrick

Massu's withdrawal is still not official.

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 8/8/07)

Does your source know if Monfils asked for a qualies WC? He said in an interview he is going to play the qualies here, but he isn't on the entry list... It's a bit embarrassing because he should have entered the qualies in time then, but maybe he has asked for a WC? (I know he did for the main draw, but didn't get it.)

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 8/8/07)

We did not discuss Monfils. He might get the last wildcard, but there are apparently a few Americans who want that one, so we'll see if the ATP pulls rank on the TD and gives one to Monfils, or waits to see if Ginepri gets into the main draw off the ALT list and frees his up. Personally, I don't think that players who miss deadlines should be rewarded with wildcards, but that's the ATP's decision.

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated 8/8/07)

Well, it is an international ATP tournament, so spreading them around is fair, but Monfils should have been paying better attention to the deadlines.

I don't see enough withdrawals to get Noam into the qualies. He is playing Binghamton this week I see. Unless Massu changes his mind, he is staying in Chile for another week and a half. Or so he says
