The "You didn't get the slam but improvements were yay! We still love you" AO/Kooyong

With Kooyong starting in 3 days and the Australian Open in nearly a week, it's time we have a place to start chitchatting about the happenings on court Down Under.

I think Fergie and the B.E.P's were onto something when they made "Lets get it started" because I'm sure as hell looking forward to these coming weeks of tennis in my hometown and to see how everyone's off-season preparation will translate into results!

Oh, and everyone, bring out your creativeness to come up with a great name for this thread!

Slimmed down, down under? Nah... I'll keep thinking on it...

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

How about "The Awesome Aussies Love Andy!: The Australian Open Thread."

What? No?

Okay I'll keep trying.

Yeah, it was pretty freezing today in Melbourne and it looks like the roof was closed so I can understand the shirt. Don't worry though... the weather is set to heat up soon so shirtless pictures will be on their way soon

Don't worry... not all the time. The other day it was about 38 degrees (celsius that it) and today it was only 22ish. It's going to be 36 on Wednesday though! Eek!

36? Oh, man. But I think it's good for Andy.

Exactly. Hence my mixed feelings about it
Well, actually, it's better for it to be 35 because if it's over that, there's the chance they'll close the roof and then the heat is basically wasted because he can't benefit from it. Oh, and I'm pretty much incapable to function outdoors when it's over 35

Re: The Kooyong/AO thread in search of a better name

Oh, and regarding the name for the thread- I'm a fan of Fumus' suggestion last year of "Throw another grand slam on the barbie!"
I can't think of anything witty.. bring out your creativeness everyone!!

I am incapable of anything when it's 30+. For me it could be Fumus' suggestion.
