Andy.

I'm still very proud of all he's achieved, of how far he's gotten. I mean, winning the finals would have been amazing, but no one will ever say that "he should have won this" against Roger. Roger makes it look so easy, Andy gave it all he had. If it's not enough, then it isn't. I have never loved Andy more than I do now.

Re: You can be betterer than Federer! I believe in you.(Andy's US Open Thread!!!!)

Before i go back and read what you guys wrote i just wanted to say i know he lost but i've never been so proud of him in my whole time supporting him. He played amazingly today and took it to Federer. Sure there were some things he could have done differently but i'm looking at the positives and i was impressed with the way he toom it to Federer in the second and third sets.

And so much for the partisan crowd, i'd love to see how GM would respond to the jerk in the crowd that kept shouting "BREAK HIM" everytime Federer have a break point,

Re: You can be betterer than Federer! I believe in you.(Andy's US Open Thread!!!!)

Well,...
I'm proud of Andy - no one expected him to do well, let alone making the finals. Proud of him fighting and not giving up - the Andy Roddick we all fell in love with is back!
I'm convinced he'd win against any other opposition.

There's still things he needs and can improve on and if the past few weeks is anything to go by, it's safe to say, plenty of good times lie ahead. I just hope he doesn't feel beaten down by this finals alone.

p.s. Was it just my imagination, or was Andy's mom crying?!

He's done well to get back where he belongs and that makes me really proud of him.

I can't wait to see him play more!

Disappointing for Andy. I was pleased he played very well in the 2nd and 3rd sets. However, I was sick of Andy gifting short balls to Roger. Oh well, he did what he could. At least he is the man who faced Roger in most Slam finals. You got to be proud of it.

I thought so too.

... So was I.

It must be frustrating to get to FOUR Grand Slam finals and be against ROGER FEDERER three times. Argh. I know it frustrates me! Ha.

Re: You can be betterer than Federer! I believe in you.(Andy's US Open Thread!!!!)

What Andy has done is phenomenal considering where he was a few months ago, and I'm honestly surprised he gave Federer this much of a challenge considering how he was hitting his forehand and the disparity in their serve statistics. He has definetely improved and if he can just work on the forehand and improve a few other things (now its only minor tweaks as opposed to overhauls) he will do much better. Still I think Roddick has shown that he is now top 3 material and top 2 on fast surfaces and I look forward to his progress for the rest of this year and next year. Good thing is he doesn't have many points to defend while Ljubcic and Nalbandian do.

BTW Federer had some crazy stats: 69 winners, 17 aces and only 19 unforced. In fact Roddick only had 33, 7, and 23. The UE is surprising considering how much of top spin roddick put on this shots

It's still better than losing in any round before that, though I see what you mean.

Oh, Andy. After the first five games I thought you would mentally crap out again towards Roger. But you found your game for the next set and a half and actually frustrated him which was good to see. Hell you even had some sweet winners

Hopefully these last two weeks will inspire you to keep on trucking.
