I wouldn't use it in formal writing but it's alright in informal conversations to put more emphasis that You, yourself watched all ten tapes of porno.

Re: Deb, Nat, and Brian's Thread of Grammar Shame.

I have a question, i always get confused with the use of in/on/at

How do you know when to use which one?

For example:
The book is in the table or is it the book is on the table or maybe the book is at the table.

silence between 2 persons is pleasant"

"(I + G) - (O + C) = A"

The book is on the table

I'm trying to think of exceptions and i'm sure there are many, but I think in English it's pretty literal.. use "in" when you are in something (like in class, in bed), use on when you are talking about on something (on tv, on the table, on the bus), use at when you mean at (at the party, at the beginning).... etc.

There are a couple of those samples I think it would make more sense if they were different grammatically. You should be "on bed" (just like on the table) because you are on top of the bed and you should be "in the bus" (just like in the car) because you are inside the bus but grammar says otherwise, oh well

Re: Deb, Nat, and Brian's Thread of Grammar Shame.

true.. I knew there were some exceptions For the bed one, though, if I were just lying down on top of the bed then I would say "I'm lying on the bed" but when I actually get under the covers I'd say "I'm getting in bed"

I like this thread. Good grammar is a good thing to have.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins...

So, let me recap to see if i got it:
if i'm over something the correct form is on, ex: i'm seatting on a chair.
if i'm under/inside something the correct one is in, ex: i'm in my office.
if i'm at some place i should use at, ex: i left my purse at the park.

Yes, exactly! (except you'd say "sitting on a chair...")

When you're dealing with a foreign language, prepositions are a bitch! Nice explanations, folks.
