Now who's the one who's being wildly optimistic

Sharing any kind of optimism being a fan of Andy Roddick is always goind to be wild...it's part and parcel of the description.

Re: Andy, give us something to get excited about during the summer hardcourt season.

you want wildly optimistic? I can do that!

omg Andy is gunna win every tournament he enters and then he's going to win the US Open again by finally beating Federer and then he'll win every tournament evar until he is #1 in the world! No rily u guyz!11'

*gets booted off the forum* :-P

More seriously, with all this talk of Andy playing a 'full hardcourt season' and 'signing up for everything'...would that mean he would possibly/probably be at Cincinatti? Because that's the one I could maybe go to, and if there was a chance he'd play, then hmmm.

I just hope Andy wins *one* title during the hard court season, even if it's a dinky one. Come on, Andy. Just one. You can do it!

As for being wildly optimistic as part of being an Andy Roddick fan...heck, I always did like an underdog :-)

Andy's defending finalist at Cincy, he's won it before, and it's a Masters event. I don't see him skipping it, barring injury or whatever. There's way more than a chance he'll play, he's automatically entered and he better be there or his ranking is in ddddeeeeeeeeeppppppp shit.

Here's what Mr. Dougtastic has to say about the HC season

Now we head into the Summer hard court season. There are a couple of things we have to consider as the summer is upon us. First we are back on the hard courts. It always takes a few days to get the body use to the pounding it takes playing on such a hard surface. Also with playing for over 2 straight months on the hard courts all of the players feel the stress, soreness, and wear and tear on their bodies. It is also very, very hot and humid in many of the cites.

If you have never been in Indianapolis, Washington DC, and Cincinnati in the in the summer, it is hard to describe just how tough the conditions are. So as we look at the next two months it will be important for Andy to continue to work on his conditioning and start getting his body adjusted to the Heat and Humidity.

Hi deb

Good read- good to see he sounds well up for the hard court swing and I'm sure he'll do well.

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

I might add while there's a fair bit to lose in Cincy there's loads to gain in Canada where he lost in the first round to serial choker PHM

Yes but, since he says he always has trouble going from Washington DC to Canada, I guess we can't really expect him to do well there.

It's not like Texas is all that pleasant in the summertime.

I'm psyching myself up to be optimistic.

On hiatus, just because.

I agree with what she said. ^^

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.
