Laptop-talk! Me likey
I'm currently on a Toshiba and I totally regretted getting it
The fan is somewhat broken, so it sounds like it's "taking off" every now and then - annoying. It works really slow now, and seems to always be always running out of memory
It's also not as handy if you carry it around a lot. I'm not even sure why I bought it in the first place, to be honest
So, I'm with you, Jo. Never again
Fujitsu is good - I haven't heard anything bad about it either. It's still quite pricey though, isn't it? But if it works fine for an extended period of time, I would totally get it.
I know a lot of people are using Dell, and I haven't heard anything bad about it so far. It's cheaper and works well - I like the specs as well - it almost seems like it's too good to be true, at times, with the kind of specs they're offering for that amount of money. And surprisingly, it does work well longer than I would've anticipated. But then, people I know who uses Dell doesn't really do 'heavy computing' work on their machine, like I do. So perhaps it's one of my personal thing as well.
HP/Compaq - I have mix experience with it. It's little things that comes up every now and then, but I guess it depends on luck as well. A few of my cousins use HP laptops and have never had any problem with their machines...
Jo, I think it's worth considering what you're using it for as well. If it's just for regular stuff (work processing, internet surfing), I'm guessing Dell would be a pretty good option to go for...
