Why Is Andy Skipping Indianapolis this year?

I just checked Andy's schedule on his official site and Indianapolis is not on the schedule. Does anyone know why he's skipping it or is it perhaps an error? He's got a title to defend. I wonder if Andy is feeling burned out, not so much physically but mentally. After he won the US Open, there were all these hopes placed on his shoulders (i.e. that he'd win more Slams) and none of them have come true so far. He's proven that he can win tournaments consistently, but can't win Slams in the same manner. I don't think he has the mental concentration to do it, because he is so easily frustrated these days.

Re: Why Is Andy Skipping Indianapolis this year?

We talked about this months ago when his schedule was first posted. The explanation that makes sense to us is that he had expected to be in the DC Quarterfinals, which would have been the week before Indy. Obviously no DC now, but he's already committed to LA and Washington DC. He can't play Indy, LA, DC, Montreal, Cincy all in a row, that would be absolutely stupid on his part.

They're more than LA, though.

I'd rather he get a three-peat at Queen's.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

The thing that's too bad is that not only is Indy worth a few more points than LA is, the LA field is much much much stronger.

But, he MUST play LA. *thinks to the $375 ticket she purchased*

Yea...um..Indy sucks. How come Andy didn't Monte Carlo? That's a bigger tourny.
