Andy Roddick hit the fastest serve in tennis history.

It's been 6 yrs but no one has come to break it yet.

So congratulations to Andy,
and here's to finishing this year on a high note!

Waiting for Andy Roddick's 2nd Grand Slam..

Re: 6 years ago today..

I don't know if this is the fall thread, but...

Andy tweeted that he is "100 percent again". I really hope so, because he needs to put some diecent performances if he wants to qualify for the Masters Cup.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Big serve, big forehand, big hair...ah, the good old days.

Re: 6 years ago today..

I wonder how many years the record will stand for

I mean technically speaking, there are bigger guys out there, so to me I am actually pretty surprised some of our current biggest servers haven't broken it. I also wonder if any of these huge servers ever try to purposely go for it and attempt to break the record or if they are too worried about getting injured/losing a point because from trying.

Federer / Haas / Safin / Gaudio / Kuerten / Youzhny / Nadal / Gonzalez / Ljubicic / Hewitt / Soderling / Wawrinka / Coria / Nalbandian / Kohlschreiber
