Re: Andy's 2010 Season Live Scoring Thread (Cincinnati)

if mardy bagels him in the third, i'm gonna like hafta laugh. i mean, he was serving out for the match, got broken, taken to a tb and lost, then gets a bagel?

it's like, woooow. i can't even.

...Fool me three times, either I'm kind of stupid or you're really good at this.

It's like Andy knows we've seen it all, so he has to come up with a new amazing way to lose to surprise us even though we didn't think it was possible to surprise us anymore.

Re: Andy's 2010 Season Live Scoring Thread (Cincinnati)

But losing means missing out on a top 8 USO Seed. not that I can see him going too far in best of 5 matches considering in this mental state he can't seem to win in straights unless the opponent plays as badly as novak did.

Well he did beat Soderling and that was a good win.

That 3rd set was hard to watch. What a stupid way of losing a great advantage he had. Total melt down.

ps. Mardy's got the skinniest legs ever! I don't even know how he manages to run.

Re: Andy's 2010 Season Live Scoring Thread (Cincinnati)

but if he had beaten sod in 2 sets maybe he would've had more left for today. that match really took a lot out of him. Losing a set to Stakhovsky in the first round was also unnecessary. He can't throw sets away like that at the USO if he's not 100% physically. Even a day off won't be able to help him in best of 5 matches. Perhaps he had trouble closing it out because he knew he wouldn't physically be able to go 3 sets, but it was still in his head. That was an ugly choke, as were the games against Soderling and Novak, so, it doesn't really bode well for the USO unless his head and his body improve somewhat. Otherwise it'll just be another 3-4 round loss.

Can we call this the silver lining please?

Seriously. His ankles look like they could be made of glass & Andy's fat ass is the one with permanent ankle straps.

I stop paying attention when Roddick is up 5-0 and I come back and it's 5-3? Laughable. What is up with him these days?

Well, he won. Some dodgy service games trying to end the sets and match but he pulled through comfortably.

Time for Tipsy to catch a beating and the next plane home to Serbia.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

wasting BPs isn't the way to start though.

Re: Andy's 2010 Season Live Scoring Thread (US Open)

when they cut away to the isner match, i was dumb enough to think that andy would have gotten one of those bps. of course, then they go back... tipsy's saved his opening game.

tipsy's bossing him around pretty nicely so far from the baseline. i hope andy's serve doesn't go all whack. of course, it's still really early on in the match, so who knows what'll happen with either of them.

It takes a very special person to waste three bp's. We all know Andy is the most special of people.
