aww Sue, hope everything's ok now at least?

I haven't been around much (well, like Re I have been checking here but not posting because no-one else does) since I moved and started work, life has been sooooo hectic! But in a good way.

Everything is much better now Still some legal issues to deal with but the end is in site. I look back on the whole crap now and wonder how the hell I kept my head up and my sanity. Being harassed is not fun I had to change around so much of my normal routine mostly because my family were not around and I was alone at home. Totally amazing that I did not lose it when all was said and done. Phew.

I forgot you are now one of us working gals How is it going?

Re: Andyland Chat Thread Part 2 (they made me.)

oh Sue, that sounds horrible. At least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Weren't you planning on moving or something? I seem to remember you having mentioned it a while ago.

I am indeed! It's going really well thanks, things calmed down a bit today but for the last month or so I have been crazy busy at work. And because I'm new to London I've been socialising a lot with people from work and friends I already had here to try to make some kind of a life for myself and meet new people. It's been a lot of fun but because I've been so busy I've barely even been in my flat, let alone had chance to spend ages on here trying to catch up with everything. I've also realised that working sucks when there is tennis on I never get chance to watch it any more because I'm either in work, out in the evening or I can't stay awake to watch it because I've turned into an old woman who goes to bed much earlier than I used to! I can still talk for Britain though, look at that mini essay I've written!

It is indeed!
Oh no, someone from work? That's awful. Glad it's almost sorted!

I've got my work Christmas party tomorrow - free alcohol all night and work the next morning

I don't know why any employer think that providing a never ending supply of alcohol is a good idea, this is why Christmas parties have such a reputation! I survived luckily and was by far one of the most sober people left at the end. It was a good job too since a couple of people who were much, much less sober were staying at mine so it would've been much harder to sort them out if I had been wasted. It was also very funny waking them up for work the next morning when I felt absolutely fine other than being a little bit tired and they were feeling somewhat worse for wear!

Re: Andyland Chat Thread Part 2 (they made me.)

sounds like it was fun. I don't know why employers think it's such a good idea, but I also don't know why employees think it's a good idea to get shitfaced around their bosses and people who write their paychecks and people they have to work with every day even if I was someone who drank a lot, I would never ever do it around work people at a work-sponsored event Sounds like you did the smart thing indeed

Re: Andyland Chat Thread Part 2 (they made me.)

I hosted a Christmas brunch last sunday and would not pay for drinks this year. In the past we paid for 2. The booze part cost more than the food part and since this year I was paying I decided to not deal with it. How Jewish is that?

How are you Deb? What's up with you these days?

Re: Andyland Chat Thread Part 2 (they made me.)

not having an open bar at a party is not very Jewish

Re: Andyland Chat Thread Part 2 (they made me.)

That was nice of you to do that My plan is to follow my children wherever they go

Yes "things" are much better around these parts. Working hard but I am use to doing that. Hired a doc who will start next July sometime and then about to offer another a part-time position. Means I will be working less overall but now the hospital is pulling all the strings and making decisions. I can live with that I think
Kids are doing well too. Still lots of fun stuff around here. I just don't post the old Sue stories about it anymore. Ok off to shop. Have to hit the Freeport outlet stores and LLBean then food shop. Of course it is freezing here. Happy Hanukah btw
