I hope he gets better and all, but I can't help but laugh a little.

Well, he defeated Clement today 6:3, 7:5. Did anyone watch? I just checked the stats, and Andy was broken twice during the match

It was a strange first set. Clement broke Andy early to go up 2-1. Next, Andy came from 0-40 down to even it up at 2-2. Andy broke again to go up 4-2 -- only to exchange two more breaks with Clement before serving it out at 6-3.

The second set was all on serve until 5-5. Clement made some incredible winners to hold his service games until Andy broke through at 6-5. The closing game was unduly stressful as Andy went down 0-40 before reeling off five straight points to close out Clement.

So, after playing the last match of the evening today, Andy's QF match with Hanescu will be first one up tomorrow.

I don't think Andy's played Hanescu since he barfed his brains out during Davis Cup two years ago. Or was that Pavel?

Congrats to Andy Roddick, 2017 Hall of Fame!

that was Pavel, Andy's 2-0 against Hanescu but their last match was almost 3 years ago and it was one of Hanescu's first back after he got hurt in that DC Tie you're thinking of ....

It was a good match - he tightened up his game. Onwards and upwards.

Yeah, seriously, good luck to Andy (it would be the prime time to let some awesome aggressive energy/playing loose on the court). Monfils was on fire.

keep it up Andy and be more aggressive

"I feel good right now," Roddick said. "I am keeping it pretty tight on the court. The drop shots helped a lot. I guess it helps to have those things worked on during the offseason."

Roddick's serve was also working, and he finished the match with 13 aces.

"I got troubled in the match just once, but like last night (a 6-3, 7-5 win over Arnaud Clement of France), I came up with the big serves when it mattered most,"
Roddick said.

I hope to be able to watch tomorrow, Monfils obviously played well today so he's going to be tough. Please, please, please win Andy!
