Oh, Andy definitely has the fight and the killer instinct! Not even Roger will be able to take that away from him.
But it will be interesting to see how their dynamic is when they meet up again so soon after the Wimbledon match. Will Roger be feeling more confident or more worried? Will Andy still come out blazing or will he try a different tactic?
The thing that separates Andy from everybody else is that he never defeats himself before the match starts. I can see it in other players' eyes and body language when they walk out on the court and they have to play someone like Roger: they are already done for. But not Andy. Andy's swagger could possibly make Roger question himself (esp. on the Canada hardcourt where Andy last beat him). And unlike a lot of other players (Kiwi, Moya, Hewitt, for example) the more someone beats him, the more pissed off Andy gets. He doesn't shrivel up into a fetal position when he loses, not matter how much Fedex (the troll; not the tennis god
) wishes that would happen.
