So then he won't be playing celebrity softball either I take it (he better not be).

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: The "Yay, a surface that's actually fast!" Summer HC Thread

I wanna know how an injury goes from being pain-free to "too severe to travel" when he hasn't even been playing. And, what the F is too severe to travel? As if flying from NYC to St. Louis on a private jet would be tough on his shoulder I also wanna know why, if it was so "severe," he had to wait until late on Thursday to inform them so that now the WTT team is screwed too.

Whatever Andy. Play Toronto and play well, dammit.

Sorry, maybe it is my mood, (so excuse me in advance) but sounds slightly lame to me. What has he been doing since Wimbledon that would cause "too severe to travel" pleeaseee. Come up with a better one Andy.

Re: The "Yay, a surface that's actually fast!" Summer HC Thread

This press release really makes me wonder. Let's take it at face value for a minute... does this mean that the injury was worse then he let on back in May and that he really should not have played the grass season?

Or, does the fact that (allegedly) the Indy tournament was in conversations with SFX this week mean that he's just using it as an excuse to get some more rest this week?

To me, something is not adding up here. Not at all. I don't like to doubt the information that comes out with Andy's name on it. I really hope that somehow, somewhere in the next few days he will do a blog entry or something to give us a more honest indication of exactly what is going on here.

Re: The "Yay, a surface that's actually fast!" Summer HC Thread

No, it doesn't add up at all to any of us, because even if his shoulder is really bad, that would mean 1) he lied throughout the grass season saying it's finally pain-free and 2) as I said, I still don't buy how a shoulder injury could be too severe to travel on a private plane for a couple hours.

I would sure as hell hope he wouldn't pull out of WTT with a "severe injury" and then show up in Indy two days later, that would be horribly poor form and as much as I'd like to see him play Indy, not under these circumstances b/c it'd make him look like a liar. However if, as of yesterday, he hadn't given the tourney a definite no, that doesn't add up with him telling WTT no the same day. if he knew thursday that he couldn't play WTT surely he'd know he couldn't play a full tournament a couple days later.

I blame ken. And Andy. But mostly Ken.

Bet the Indy tournament must be thrilled also, and adding to the fact that Murray pulled out.

I agree with all of you when I read that notice. We really don't want to know what has ailed him maybe he has been lifting furniture again? He had better come to Toronto otherwise there will be one very angry Andy fan who will track him down. He was injured the last time the guys played here.
