Kohlscreiber did play great - he made some great shots.

Poor Andy -

I hate tennis sometimes. This truly sucks.

And I really would like to tell the people on GM to *uck themselves sometimes.

Re: AO Live Scoring Thread (3rd round vs Kohlschreiber, post #81)

Too much defense and passive play so he got what was coming too him. I just don't understand how many lessons like this it will take for him to stop doing it. Kohlschreiber was very very good but it still wasn't anything an Aggressive Andy couldn't handle.

And, yes, the morons in GM can go *uck themselves.

yep, and with each passing time he does this, one has to wonder how long. If he were playing his best and just missing, at least he would go down swinging. But to be so passive, to just let the balls sit there waiting for this guy to pounce, just like 2 years ago, there's no excuse for it because we know he can play better than that. I really do wonder why I bother sometimes.

nick, he's had way too many wakeup calls in the past 3+ years. I know there are some much better at this than I am, but I can't keep hoping anymore. one wake up call, two wake up calls, coaching changes, ok, i can keep hoping............................ but twenty....

Emotional attachment sucks. I just get less and less interested every tournement. I thought that the end of 06/07 would be a turning point but it looks like Andy has just turned right back around to 05' form.

Argh he's just so damn frustrating!! I was on-court for the first 3 sets and GAH I just wanted to run and slap him! His passive play was shocking but worst of all was his attitude tonight - he really pissed me off!!

Why was he arguing with the umpire?? (I just saw a pic on Getty)

Re: AO Live Scoring Thread (3rd round vs Kohlschreiber, post #81)

He argued with the ump several times. Once b/c the ump didn't do anything about fans screaming during his serve, once there was a challenge and he was mad the point wasn't replayed, and a couple other times too

Why can't he play like it's DC everyday? This is a stupid loss. How come he beat better players last week?

I would like to really dislike Andy and move on to Gasquet for my #1 favorite, but I can't!!! Like Eugene Levy said in Bringing Down the House: "You got me straight trippin' boo. You got my head all wrapped up in the game."

Before this slam began I said to myself, "Andy never does well in even numbered years at the AO." 4th round loss to Baghs and now 3rd round. He was a semifinalist!! He's not gonna be in the top 10 in 2 weeks is he?

You don't choose the things you like, they choose you.

For sure, right now, I very much wish Andy wasn't my favourite player but there's no way I can truthfully say to myself or anyone that I don't care about him anymore. It's just the way it is. We have to suffer through the bad losses as much as the great victories.

Yeah, he doesn't live up to what he looks like visually. He come across as an very agressive player (Boris Becker once compare Andy to a Tiger) but he's just a cute rabbit.
