So it's basically a fried flattened pork chop with no bone? Why does it have wiener in it? That name sounds German. Well, if the Austrian players eat it, the Austin king will knock it out of them.

My German is a little rusty -- Wien is the German spelling for Vienna. I believe that Wiener means that is is from Vienna.

Yes, or like I said I believe the more traditional meat is veal. The name sounds German because they speak German in Austria.

If I was going to go to the USA vs France (if it happens) it would neeeeed to be somewhere that has international direct flights. London flies a lot of places but not Portland or Winston-Salem or several of the other places that the USTA likes to choose.

Wienerschnitzel looks goooood. I would so eat that now if there was some here.

Re: The "beating the schnitzel out of the Austrians" 2008 Davis Cup Thread!!

Obviously there are reasons for picking those sites, because there will need to be lots of hotel rooms and facilities available at short notice and the stadium will need to be available for the whole week for practise and stuff. A lot of the people I met at Portland had actually had to take connecting flights into Portland even from other places in the US.

Yeah, Portland is neither a major major city nor a hub for any major US Airlines that I'm aware of, so flights there will be tough no matter where you're talking about coming from.

Kate I didn't know you met tangy, how fun!

Luckily, at least in April, the weather is a lot better, which would allow for much wider possibilities for outdoor ties throughout the whole south

We could have it in Baton Rouge, LA, where I live. The PMAC stadium would be perfect for lots of reasons.

Hehehehe Mary hmmm unless u r a veal lover I would stay away!

I don't mind having connecting flights it was just the connecting airports that were bad (although I did have to wait in Toronto for 5 hours for them to change a tire on the plane but that is another story).

Deb Tangerine is a lovely person!!!!
