Re: The "beating the schnitzel out of the Austrians" 2008 Davis Cup Thread!!

If it happens it'll happen in April and I'd guess next year they'd go back to an outdoor venue - Florida, Houston, California, Arizona, the Carolinas, etc. I don't think they'd put the French indoors. I don't think it'd be wise and in April they wouldn't have to. So I think you'd have to fly anywhere it would be But then, so would most American posters here sooooo But of course anything's possible and they might go indoors somewhere but after 2 indoor ties in a row it seems unlikely, then again never can tell with the USTA since they follow the dollar signs

I wish they would come to Texas; but, it would have to be indoors since April is usually storm season.

I am quietly confident about beating Austria and I don't know why. Usually I panic nearer the time.

Re: The "beating the schnitzel out of the Austrians" 2008 Davis Cup Thread!!

The reason Austria could be potentially tough is that they actually have a good doubles team in Knowle/Melzer who actually played together on the tour for a while and were successful. I mean we should beat them but it's 2 months away, anything can happen then, like who knows maybe Melzer will find a brain

Saying Melzer will find a brain is like saying Mardy will find his serve.

Re: The "beating the schnitzel out of the Austrians" 2008 Davis Cup Thread!!

so true so true I've seen Andy beat Melzer on clay actually. It was in houston a couple years ago, it was a really close match but I remember it was right after Andy had won Miami then immediately played Davis Cup and he was like a walking zombie who point blank told the crowd that night he wouldn't have won if it hadn't been in Houston with that crowd behind him Anyway I just remember it was close and Melzer served for the first set but Andy broke him back easily But like on his day, he is very dangerous.

I'm hoping Houston. It's a 4 hour drive from me. I would actually try to get there a few days early and try to catch the guys practicing.

Re: The "beating the schnitzel out of the Austrians" 2008 Davis Cup Thread!!

Wienerschnitzel is like, veal or pork pounded thin, breaded, and deep fried. It's like, the national dish of Austria (or at least Vienna ) I didn't personally eat it when I was there, since it doesn't appeal to me at all, but it's on pretty much every Viennese menu

edit: this is the place in Vienna famous for serving the best - and biggest - schnitzels
