Ouch; broken back and a different team?

Re: Juan in the Land Down Under 2008

It's a real shame he's actually injured...The article says he might be 3 months out due to the back problem...

Also I don't like players not having a coach...WTF I hope pìcs don't destroy him

I don't know if this will make you guys feel any better, but I saw the first set of the match and there was terrific tennis from both players. I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw today.

Re: Juan in the Land Down Under 2008

Juan was playing a great match, but his back was clearly bothering him. People were criticizing his decision to retire, but I'd noticed him stretching his back for the entire match, and he'd already called for the trainer.

After losing the second set, he became really frustrated and slammed a ball out of the stadium before calling it quits.

Re: Juan in the Land Down Under 2008

Juan was serving at 170kph...he barely couldn't move, but saw the first set and there were long rallies and intense points...you can say that if he were healthy, he could have a chance at least for winning a set

Re: Juan in the Land Down Under 2008

Any idea of how many tournaments Juan will miss? I have him in my fantasy tennis team and want to know if I need to replace him... obviously his problems with the injury are far bigger than mine though, heal well Delpo

I'd love to know that too. The injury is quite serious but we don't know much about it. I'm sure Delpo has recieved some results by now and we can find out exactly what the injury is and its severity. If he only has pain while serving, I'd still say it's advisable for him to rest up until he's pain free. You should probably replace him, but it might hurt his feelings.
