Re: Ranking Watch

If Juan loses tomorrow, he will take the new #13 (with 1518 points) on September 8.
If he wins tomorrow, then he will be the new #10 with 1718 points.

I have to admit that Juan is the underdog in tomorrow's match.
Anyway, what matters most is that he has proved himself in the big tournaments too.

Re: Ranking Watch

Del Potro said his goal for this season was top 15, so he's happy he got there.

But being #10 in the champions race, now he wants to try to get to Shangai.

With two AMS on fast surfaces, I think he is a serious contender.

Re: Ranking Watch

A TV journalist said that if Juan Martín gets to the final (by beating Gasquet or Schuettler, we will see), he will be a top ten.

Whatever the result of the final, he will be #9 in the entry system.

If he loses the final he will be #9 in the race, winning he will be #8.

Del Potro is the youngest Argentine to reach the Top Ten:
  1. Del Potro - 20 years old
  2. Mancini - 20 and 2 months
  3. Nalbandian - 21 years old
  4. Coria - 21 and 4 months
  5. Clerc - 21/22 (don't know exactly)
  6. Vilas - 22 years old
  7. Gaudio - 25 and 6 months
  8. Jaite - 25 and 9 months
  9. Puerta - 26 and 6 months
  10. Cañas - 27 and 6 months

Re: Ranking Watch

Congrats to JMDP for reaching the top ten! This did not seem really possible at the start of this year.

I hope he takes care of this ranking and does not burn out at the end of this year. I think he should skip Vienna and maybe Basel focus on the Madrid, Paris, Shanghai (if he makes it which seems like a good possiblity) and DC.

I like a lot of players.
