Re: 2012 Schedule and Cheering Thread: Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

Seems like he's playing Dubai. The Fox Sports Ecuador has his commercials all day long of him playing Dubai. So guess that's a confirmation.

Juan Martin del Potro, James Blake, David Nalbandian, Stanislas Wawrinka, Andy Roddick, Grigor Dimitrov, Mardy Fish

Ryan Harrison, Robby Ginepri, Sam Querrey, Tommy Robredo, Ivan Ljubicic, Tomas Berdych, Nicolas Almagro

He shouldn't. Dubai is slow, won't suit his game.

Anyway, good win, even though he is nowhere to his real form.

hi, y'all ... I didnt realize there was an official livescore thread, so i'll check it out

but before I do that, i'm wondering: if we're not supposed to mention the scores, what does the "Cheering Thread" part of the title refer to?

I don't think the fact that Dubai is slow is such a big problem. It's more that he'll be playing 3 weeks in a row and it will require quite a bit of travel as well so he might want to reconsider if he does well in both Rotterdam and Marseille. On the other hand, it will be a good "yardstick" of where his game is relative to what it was like at the AO because all the big guns (except Nadal) will be playing in Dubai. Plus, I bet the appearance money is quite good as well ;-)

The draw is out. He plays Llodra first. If he wins, probably gets Petzschner. Not the worst possible draw but lot of tricky and different opponents. I'm not sure he will go far there.
Vamos Juan.

Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

This is a good draw. I'm expecting at least SF from Juan. Would be great to see him play Berdych in the SF. That will tell us where his game really is right now. It would be really good to see Juan win his first ATP500. Interesting that he already has a GS title but all his other titles are ATP250's!!!

He cannot win Rotterdam. Berdych is in far better form and Federer can beat him now. Let's just hope he will have a decent week.

Oh Lawrence be positive lol. Who thought he would win US Open 2009 by beating Nadal and Federer back to back? Both Berdych and Federer are playing Davis Cup this weekend and Federer became Federror in his performance against Isner today...so anything is possible! This surface is good for Juan...he can win! I believe!!

Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

Here is the draw: By all accounts one would expect him to get to the SF's.

[1] Roger Federer (SUI) vs. Nicolas Mahut (FRA)
Mikhail Youzhny (RUS) vs. Igor Kunitsyn (RUS)
[WC] Igor Sijsling (NED) vs. Jarkko Nieminen (FIN)
Lukasz Kubot (POL) vs. [6] Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKR)

[4] Feliciano Lopez (ESP) vs. Qualifier
Robin Haase (NED) vs. Nikolay Davydenko (RUS)
Alex Bogomolov Jr. (RUS) vs. Sergiy Stakhovsky (UKR)
Flavio Cipolla (ITA) vs. [5] Richard Gasquet (FRA)

[7] Viktor Troicki (SRB) vs. [WC] Thiemo De Bakker (NED)
[WC] Jesse Huta Galung (NED) vs. Ivan Ljubicic (CRO)
Qualifier vs. Philipp Petzschner (GER)
Michael Llodra (FRA) vs. [3] Juan Martin Del Porto (ARG)

[8] Marcel Granollers (ESP) vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER)
Qualifier vs. Andreas Seppi (ITA)
Qualifier vs. Marcos Baghdatis (CYP)
Lukas Rosol (CZE) vs. [2] Tomas Berdych (CZE)
