Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

Marseille MD out:

[1] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga vs. BYE
Nicolas Mahut vs. [WC] Arnaud Clement
Jarkko Nieminen vs. Edouard Roger-Vasselin
Flavio Cipolla vs. [8] Andreas Seppi

[4] Juan Martin Del Potro vs. BYE
Nikolay Davydenko vs. Andreas Beck
Igor Kunitsyn vs. Qualifier
Go Soeda vs. [5] Richard Gasquet

[7] Ivan Ljubicic vs. [WC] Florent Serra
[WC] Paul-Henri Mathieu vs. Karol Beck
Adrian Mannarino vs. Qualifier
BYE vs. [3] Janko Tipsarevic

[6] Alexandr Dolgopolov vs. Lukas Rosol
Qualifier vs. Michael Llodra
Matthias Bachinger vs. Qualifier
BYE vs. [2] Mardy Fish

I didn't know Delpo had a bye but I think it would be great having a match or two here before heading to Dubai. But of course skipping it will be the best because I cannot see him get past Tsonga.

Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

Haha I just posted this in the other "cheering" thread we have. I think Pony should give it a shot here, especially if he wins the title in Rotterdam tomorrow he can have a nice little winning streak. That always feels nice. Plus Pony owes Tsonga a little revenge for the Vienna indoor finals at the end of the last season, and it's hard to see anyone from the bottom half troubling him in the final if he does indeed get past Jo in the SF.

It's not necessary to go to Dubai the week after if he wins this indoor title or gets to the final here though. He should rest and get ready for IW/Miami at that point, where he's defending a ton of points.

Marseille draw is not bad though he has to face a lot of tricky opponents. Tsonga can beat him indoors, not to mention he will be at home with a crowd support.

Agree. My assumption is that he is getting a significant amount of $$ for going

I think Dubai is throwing some cash at him too, otherwise I can't see why he'd travel all the way out there before playing in IW/Miami.

And as far as the threads go One is for posting what you want and as much as you want during a match and the other basically for results. Forum posters wanted different things so easy to accommodate what works.

Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

No worries; I got it now.

For the record I am hoping Feds wins today so Pony has a shot at revenge for AO tomorrow, and then I hope we get a Pony-Davydenko R2 matchup next week in Marseille for some much delayed revenge for the 2009 WTF final I feel Roger is ripe for the taking, it's now or never and Juan could really use a Top 4 "signature" victory to jumpstart the rest of his year...

I think he should play Marseille and skip Dubai. Go to the states earlier and get used to the IW courts.

It would also be sweet if Juan won his first ATP500 level title (kind of hard to believe, but all his non-USO titles are ATP250 titles!!) against Feds, much the same way he won his first GS against Feds.

Re: 2012 Schedule Next Up : Rotterdam 13-19 Feb 2012

Ehh he can go to Dubai, hang out at the players party, perform a strategic tank in R2 or R3 and head home with his appearance money...poor kid lost a year's worth of earnings from injury so I can't begrudge him from chasing a little easy cash right now. Lord knows if I had the same opportunity I'd be flying to all 4 corners of the earth week after week LOL.

Calm down a bit. He has no chance against Federer indoors. It's easier just to expect him to play really well instead.

DelPo won their last indoor match at the 2009 WTF. He has a chance; he always does. He's the only man, aside from Nadal, to defeat Feds in a GS final. I refuse to remain anything but positive when it comes to My Little Pony.
