He will never learn. He needs matches, not one-month hiatuses.

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

I think it's time to consider retirement. It's clear he can't manage his career like a pro, skipping a month right after his best match this season. Seems like he's the victim of his injuries and stupid career management. His coach is surely an idiot. Even an amateur coach would have told him to not to miss important tournaments.
Now look at the result: old players well over 30 beating him easily. It is the LOW of this year.
Not much else to say at the moment. Disappointing as anything.

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

retirement? right

Why is it that when players lose a match they need to retire from tennis? Seriously?!

Bad day at the office......he's young and he'll bounce back.... I wouldnt worry about this.

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

Wouldn't worry?
His season has been a catastrophe so far even if he's coming back from that injury. He should have easily won this tournament instead of crushing out in the 1st round to an old guy.

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

yeah wouldnt worry..... have you seen how blake was playing?

Seriously.... he's 23! His best years are still to come. So he lost today, to an "old guy"... big deal.... He'll figure out what he did wrong and fix it or try to fix it. No need to scream retirement ... please

but if you think he should retire, be my guest.... I think he'll be fine.

I'm just bitter. My favorite player's career is a catastrophe. How to think smartly now?

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

I see where Lawrence is coming from. This is not just one loss, he has been crap since Wimbledon and mostly because he chose to rest instead of playing.
You don't take a month off after the form he showed in the DC.
He needs better career management and surely a better fitness coach. I know he is tall and injury prone, but he was so much fitter back in 2009. Look at him now, he has put on some weight, he is terribly slow and lethargic. He needs changes, otherwise he might as well retire, because playing part time is not going to cut it.

Thank you Svetlana. You understand my post.

Anyway, we should not expect anything good in the rest of this season. Vienna looks an easy tournament, but he will surely find ways to lose the first match or the second.

Re: Juanito´s 2011 Cheering Thread-Stockholm

lawrence i jus wanna give you a hug, i mean tbh i was always a fan of delpo, even when he first came out on tour, i wanted delpo to win his first ever slam, he was my fave to win the usopen back in 09 i chose him as my second fave to win(nadal my 1st), when i watched that match between delpo and fed i was cheering my *** off for delpo, i really wanted him to beat fed, when he won in 5 sets jus like when rafa won in 5 sets in wimby 08 i cried like a baby when those two won against fed in 5 sets, but delpo is still young and he will find a way to get back into former top 10 mode, give him some time im sure he'll find a way....
