Re: Oh My Buddah!!! :O he is back.... let's chat ;)

Hi guys
I have been observing for a while now and i finaly decided to register .
I'm surprised that no one have talked about juanito's amazing form at the davis cup , against tipsarevic he was so focused on every single point he served realy well his forehand were fantastic , his movement definitely has improved
and he continued against djokovic it's pretty clear that novak wasn't ready , but delpo's performance was great and he deserve some credit for that , i wished that the match didn't end the it did , but it's ok , those two wins could give juan a huge push
I hope that he keep playing like this , and the best is yet to come .

The entry list is not out yet, but given that it is AMS 1000, he will definitely play.

I wonder whether he wants to qualify for WTF this year.

Hmmm
Honestly after the US Open series i kinda gave up on that
But after his performance with argentina i think he can actually qualify if he want to , especially that he don't any points to defend that will give him a big advantage
Beside i want to attend the event this year so he better qualify

Really weird. No beijing and Tokyo (2 500s) but Stockholm and Vienna (2 250s)?

Better fields, his schedule was made in mind of returning slowly. I don't think he expected to get his form back so quick.

Juan Martin Del Potro

But he lost 23 times against you.
's right. We have to also throw into the mix. But I do not think it is currently the decisive factor. But he has achieved in my opinion too much. Maybe this is crucial if I move him even closer after major victories. But 14 or 17 Grand Slam titles is a significant difference. At the present time there is no question that he must be the greater player than me.

I wish Delpo will try to qualify for the ATP Finals! I don't think he is far off and he has a good short given that the upcoming tournaments (surfaces) should favour him right? There 4/8 spots taken. Ferrer is almost guaranteed his 5th spot. So fighting for the last 3 spots are Fish, Tsonga, Berdych, Almagro, Soderling (his pretty much out of his), Monfils...who else?? Out of that like I think Delpo can get into 7th or 8th spot there. Depending on who well Fish comes back to play and also Tsonga's form.

Fingers crossed!!

Also..I think it's a bit weird that Delpo is not playing Tokyo or Beijing and jumping straight into a 1000-Shanghai. Maybe he needs the rest?!?

My ideal ranking:
No.1 Rafa - he is my god beyond GOAT!
No.2 Fed - only cos his success make Rafa's even better
No.3 Delpo - he is my true no.2!!

I am not enjoying Nole's dominance and I am a Brit who doesn't support Murray!
I also love most lefties and Spainish players

Welcome to Delpo's forum^^!

One can only assume since his camp isn't talking that they did not think he would do so well this year. And I bet rest is appropriate at this point. Certainly don't want another injury.

Thanks for the welcome

Yes, I do think long term, resting and not overdoing it is best!! Delpo's game is so fierce that it is prone to injury if he doesn't rest properly between tournaments. I hope he does well for the remainder of his 2011 tournament. In my eyes, Delpo is someone who can consistently take a few sets from the top champions (Nole and Rafa). If it wasn't for Nole quitting (*rolled eyes*), he could have been the 3rd person to beat the unbeatable in 2011!! I think of the top 4; Murray is actually the player he seems to struggle most against. Anyway, I hope he does well in all the GS next year and if he doesn't crack into the Top 4 (which I know he eventually will again)...I hope he is the no.5 player that all of the top 4 don't want in their quarter...that will make it exciting again!!!

He did beat Nole, the fact he retired don't change the result. Actually the Davis Cup effort he put forth was the best tennis he has played since coming back from injury and really made me believe that he can become the player he was in 09 once again.

Could have? LMAO

Delusional much? Delpo cleaned Djoker's cloak that day in Belgrade.

Make no mistake about it: that second set was on it's way to being 6-love for the Argentine!

The only reason, I repeat: the ONLY reason why the world №1 quit was because he was too proud to eat a bagel in front of his fellow proud countrymen.
