He lost, 6-4, 6-2. It wasn't a good draw on a surface that is serve orientated for Krajinovic - and the courts at Roehampton are much quicker than those at Wimbledon. I think he should have played a challenger, or some qualifiers on grass first - but then he did so well last week, it's difficult to say. Not the best grand slam debut, but things went against him - the draw, conditions, etc.
kendrick is tough on grass. he almost beat nadal in wimbledon, few years ago
for example, marin playe MD of GS when he was 18 y and 4 months. filip is exatly that old, so this is not band. he will probably has better draw at US open and he will get MD
He is having 2 weeks off then he's playing Arad challenger in Romania. That's logic cos it's maybe few hours away from his hometown of Sombor in Serbia so he can be with his family a bit before he goes to tournaments again.
After that I don't see him listed for next clay tournaments in Europe. Does anybody knows what are his plans? Staying in Europe on clay or heading to US to start hard court season?
Haha, i think that's getting a little bit carried away. It's a challenger with a few experienced clay court players on it, and Filip isn't yet used to going regularly into the latter stages. I think if he makes the quarters (where he's scheduled to meet Crivoi), it's a decent enough display. Of course he 'could' win it, but i'm not sure he 'should'
He'll play Vasallo Arguello in the first round, then probably Cervenak in the second.
Seeing as he went toe-to-toe with Djokovic on clay, and then at Barcelona was competing with Chela, who is a clay courter above these, not to mention being in a clay final... I'm going to put some expectations on him. If he did lose in the quarters it wouldn't be at all upsetting, but I'm going to expect a bit more.
