What's the best site to follow the Olympics? Clearly I need to open one otherwise I have no idea what you are talking about most of the time

To be fair, it was to be expected. They asked Kim Clijsters but she declined due to having to play the next day + Tia was the only gold medal we had last Olympics.

Talking about Belgian mugs in sports. Real Madrid is very close to signing Axel Witsel. I hope he gets to play on a regular basis. He had it good in Benfica.
A Belgian cyclist finished 4th in Tour de France.

Good to hear about the holidays.

The official site is http://www.london2012.com

That's the one I've been using to keep up with scores while watching events

I just tried The Voice of the Games page. It keeps reloading every 10 seconds so I can't read anything that is accessible by scrolling down

So glad I got to watch the U.S. team crash and burn without any spoilers. That was fun.

But I’m ok now because i’m watching the HORSES! So pretty. They looked so strong on the xcountry course, and so lean and delicate today. I also love the jumping outfits the riders wear.

He’s definitely better looking than Rafa. There aren’t many men who are so good looking. But, probably he has an ego to go with it.

tbf that wasn’t a U.S. site. I don’t know what her accent was, but not a U.S. accent for sure. Still you are right. Lochte is nice looking — several cuts above Phelps for sure — but not in the top echelon for me.

Besides — that mouth thing he wears is gross.

What do you call a vest? A t-shirt? This is what a “vest” is.

Please not to mangle English in the future. Thanks in advance.

[QUOTE=MariaV;12268478]Geez I'm probably spoiling Star's viewing pleasure but the 15-y-o Lithuanian girl beat Rebecca Soni and won the gold medal in 100 m breaststroke.

Why are you sobbing about the lithuanian girl beating Soni? She’s from a baltic state. Sort of a cousin country, no? Like me being happy for a canadian, or the darling Garcia and Sanchez who our commenter kept calling “the Mexicans” and never using their names.

(Hey, I can't gloat about our athletes (one medal so far, bronze ), so allow me something)

- I love the swimming, always have (not the diving. I skip the diving events...Although I'm hoping that Tom Daley gets no medal...I'm sick and tired of the hype around that guy).
One thing has struck me: a lot of the male swimmers have a big chin. Phelps being the prime example but many of them have. They nearly all have broad shoulders and a very strong neck which seems very logical, but the amount of male swimmers with an impressive chin is above average. Some make Jay Leno feel like he has a small chin, I bet.
(I wonder if La Fed missed his true calling ).

- I found myself rooting for France quite a bit. I'm starting to get worried about myself.

- Yesterday, I say Gary Lineker gloating about the UK having more medals than the Germans. Hmmmpff
In my newspaper, they said that the accommodation of the British athletes are the best (home advantage, fair enough) but the worst accommodation (near a building site and therefor, very noisy) is given to the Germans. I'm sensing a pattern.

Whom do I have to target for allowing a Fedtard to start a rafachat post-Wimbledon?
Evita was the one encouraging JM to start the thread. Look at the end of the previous thread.

However, I am surprised to see that the guy is now arrested by the police.

He already apologised but he got arrested anyway.

If everybody who says something insulting is arrested by the police, the streets would be quite empty. A bit of an overreaction if you ask me.
I don’t get how someone can be arrested for what they say on twitter. What law does that violate? I mean if there are death threats, that could violate some law or another, but just insults? I mean it’s vile, but being vile is not against the law.

It seems to me that it’s something to be reported to twitter and let them delete the account like they did to that british journalist who complained non-stop about NBC and the Olympic time delay.

Should have been like Feddie and claimed she wasn’t carrying the flag in order to give mere humans a chance.

Hilde, welcome back.

I’m glad the holiday was perfect. I had hoped you were sitting in your lovely garden sipping champagne and nibbling on belgian chocolates. Apparently it was better than that.

Oh, btw. Even I think the French team is great. It’s a good thing that guy who beat the U.S. in the relay isn’t Spanish or there would be claims of doping. He’s incredibly fast. Reminds me of Cav.
