July 11 - Flanders Day

July 11, 1302 - The Battle of the Golden Spurs, the day Flemings kicked aristocratic French butt.
Or, as an American historian put it: - and I hope Metis is reading this - the day "modern democracy" was born:
Quote:
Most Americans do not know that they owe a lot to the freedom-loving Flemings

JM, if you're reading, I just saw the "who badrepped..." thread in non-tennis.
What did you write in Dutch?

PS: Dutch being the most difficult language to learn? It's not the easiest but hardly the most difficult.

---
...and while I'm talking to myself:

Manchester City are in Austria for a training camp.
It'll cost the team € 250.000
Among the expenses (from the wish list of the team)
- handmade mattresses and they had to be flown in from Rome
- ultralight and lucious bed sheets at € 1.000 per sheet
- luxurious and esp. chosen table linen
- Water and fish are flown in from the UK every two days
- Every player has his own luxurious suite in a 5-star accommodation
- The local church bell normally rings at 7 a.m. but during this training camp, they requested that it will ring later to keep the precious pampered darlings asleep.

Kutwijf?????? That's so rude, though.

Do you actually know what "kut" means?

You need a comma after "bek"

No
It is in some companies and institutions in Flanders but I work for a federal organisation so no holiday for me.

Re: Rafachat vol.78 life is more important than tennis

I've never met anybody in tennis more polite and giving and generous than Federer. He treats the woman who cleans the hotel the same as the guy who owns it. I remember once when Federer and I were escorted into a room for my 15 minutes with him. He'd just finished his match, and he was drained. There was a leather recliner and a stool. He took the stool. And nothing I could say would talk him off it.

It so is utterly rude.

the English word for "kut" is censored on MTF, so that's an indication of how rude it is.

Hahahaha, why would you want water or fish flown in from the Uk. The food is better in Austria anyway.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Not really. Haters like to point out his arrogance, like thinking his shit smells magnolia and on the other hand they like to point out how Rafa's just a simple normal guy, friendly with everyone...

Not quite.

Most of you like to stress out that he's so nice and polite in spite of all his achievements like it would be normal to be the otherwise

And it's his tards that think his shit doesn't smell, not the GOAT himself
