You also said Fed would dominate 2011, you know nothing.

Federer's fine, it's his fans that were the problem, although they have become far less of a problem since he lost the number one spot. That void has now been well and truly filled, surpassed even, by Nadal fans.

Hopefully del Potro fans will continue the tradition in 2012 of never accepting a defeat without an excuse (usually of the injured variety). The good news is del Potro fans will always be able to cite the wrist and put him on an even loftier perch for getting to number one while playing virtually handicapped.

And here's another thing, before the Murray clan start affording him cult status as the best player to never win a Slam, he isn't. He's the third best, behind David Nalbandian and Marcelo Rios, in that order.

+1000

I said it before. people will only really appreciate the Fedal era when it is over. And I don't only mean Fed, this goes for Rafa just the same. They are true legends we should enjoy every moment.

Oh, are we having to wait until 2012 for DelPo's reign? How very restrained of you

I have zero problems with that position. arrogant fans are always annoying.

Nadal would have to lose first round pretty much the rest of the season and del Potro would have to win all remaining Slams for that to happen this year. 2012 it'll have to be.

By that point Nadal fans will claim del Potro is only number one because Nadal has put more of his focus into singing duets with Shakira ala Jordan and Peter Andre.
