Rhythmic gymnastics is
kind of lame. I'm not saying it's easy or that it doesn't require skill and practice, but it is one of the weaker and least respected events. I wouldn't even want to see it in a circus.
They leave rhythmic gymnastics in but kick softball out.
Then Rogge said that the reason softball was out was because people thought it was the same as baseball, but for women, and went on to say that baseball had been tainted because of its association with drugs. And I'm thinking -- uh .. Cycling???? I think that's still in the olympics.
But finally he alluded to the real problem. Major League baseball won't interrupt its season to send players to the olympics. It's the olympics wanting to be the be all and end all in sports.
Then he went on to say that the best moment was seeing Federer cry when he got his gold medal. Apparently the man doesn't watch much grand slam tennis.
