I thought the same. But you know, it can happen everywhere. I took the train yesterday aswell. It's just very sad. Now they will investigate how this could have happened, but the damage is done.
True - we've had bad train accidents here too over the years. And - as you say - no amount of investigation after the event, can undo the damage.
More than 5cm of snow in my garden. Roads are extremely dangerous since they are running out of salt and will only use it for 2 (not even 3!) lanes on the highways. It was so scary to drive the car yesterday, we were sliding everywhere. Doesn't seem to be getting any better soon, as it will be very humid with temperatures below zero
We had the same problem with salt last month when the snows here were very bad. The motorways were taken care of, but none of the ordinary roads, and none of the pavements, which made it so dangerous. After all, it is mainly older people who are at most danger from falls and broken bones, and it's those older people who are more likely not to drive, and will need to walk to shops etc. Can't imagine how things got so bad
