My advice is buy a 2litre bottle of water for 45pence and reuse that
for no more than 7 days. Your son can drink the water in the bottle
before the match/training then you can refill with water and add an
isotonic drink mix which will replace all the lost sodium and minerals
in his body.
Common problems I`ve expereinced with players is they rely on just
water or fruit juices.....they need to replace what is lost! What happens
is they just dilute what sodium and minerals are left in the body from all
the plain water.....replace replace replace....not dilute!
So isotonics drinks or drink mixes (lucosade sport REHYDRATE for about
80pence in boots is ideal!).
If you stick with one flask or container then you will need to sterilse
these often! Just like a new born baby has a sterile bottle every time,
we still need these when we get older.
I recommend using a bottle for no more than 7 days as the bacteria begins
to form....(washing up is not enough...needs to be sterile) around the lid
and within then before you know it your sons will be feeling ill often.
