Racket advice please!

Hi guys,

I've recently started playing tennis and am really enjoying it. Till now I've been using a friends Racket. I feel ready to get one for myself but i know nothing about what to look for! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am 6 foot 2.male. I have a one handed backhand which i like to hit flat. I have a pretty good forehand which i prefer placing or flattening out for power rather than using much top spin. Ditto with my serve. I would say my playing level is between beginner and intermediate.

My budget is between 40 and 60 pounds

The best advice you'll get is to try demo racquets. Most decent sports/tennis stores have racquets that you can try out for a few days for a nominal fee.
As for choosing which racquets to demo, well, use your friend's racquet as your 'base' - do you want a racquet that is lighter or heavier than that? Stiffer or more flexible?
Unfortunately, it's 'hit and miss' as far as tennis salespeople are concerned - some know their stuff, while others have no clue.
