Advice on 'Swing Style' Index

Hey guys, basically I've been playing tennis since i was around 4 years old. Would say im an intermediate player. But shamefully, I've never bought a tennis racket for my self. My brother and my dad are both avid players and i always get their hand me downs. For about a year I've been playing with a pair of Head Ti.Fire rackets. Recently discovered there a 'Swing Style' index number on it. Telling me that its a 'L1' style. Iv tried googling it to find out how this index works and what L1. Represents with no luck? I play a flat double handed backhand with a full swings. And forehand i take it short with a fair amount of top spin. Is this the right racket for me? Any help would be much appreciated! man to ever pick up a tennis racket

Re: Advice on 'Swing Style' Index

I was demoing rackets for a while... I probably went through about 10-20 sticks, but when I picked up the Roddick Babolat Pure Drive Plus - I never looked back.

It's a bit stiff, and good for players from 3.5+ ranking. I think you will like it if you try it... they have even newer models now I think - but I'm still in love with the three rackets I bought 3 years ago!

Re: Advice on 'Swing Style' Index

Hi there!
All I know is this;

The longer and faster the swing, the higher the L#.

Usually from L1 to L5.

If you say, you swing long on backhand and short on forehand I suggest to try something like L3.

This is exclusive to Head rackets, other companies don't do this. Basically L1 & L2 have the most power, for beginners, L3 is for intermediates, and L5 & L4 offer the least power, for advanced players
