MSV, Topspin, or Technifibre?

I am a heavy topspin player and I've been playing with PHT 17's for years.

However, PHT's are beginning to cost a bit too much considering how often I play and break strings, and the tension loss isn't huge, but noticeable. I'm looking for a poly with plenty of bite for topspin, minimal tension loss, and last quite a while (perhaps too much to ask, I know).

I am thinking of going with either MSV Hex 17's, Technifibre Black or Red code 17's, or Topspin Cyberflash 17's.

Stringforum.net ranked MSV as the poly of the year in 2008, so I am leaning towards that. Anyone have any experience with these strings?

Re: MSV, Topspin, or Technifibre?

firstly, let me say that my stance is that textured and/or profiled strings do NOT give any more spin. this is a stance also held by the ITF technical centre, who test these kind of things. if you are looking for my spin, my advice is to go with a 1.25 (17g) smooth poly. of the stings you have mentioned, my preference would be topspin cyberflash, although if you are looking at topspin you may want to consider cyber blue as well, as from my experience its a slightly better string. both the tecnifibres are pretty solid options, i've used red code loads of times, but it doesnt set the world alight. black code is in my testing pipeline. i dont really rate msv at all and dont believe all the hype surrounding its spin generating capacity

Thanks, jazar.

Have you tried the MSV strings? Why do you think people rate it so highly?
