Developing a serve

Hiya, I'm working on my basic serving motion. I've been watching some matches and have decided to model my action on Goran Ivanisevic as I feel it is a simple technique that I can make my own (I don't plan on mimicking his action 100%). I feel having a model can focus me on having a decent motion.

Is this a good approach to take?

Re: Developing a serve

Its a good approach. Altho you must not stride to get the perfect copy. Everyone has their own variations of the serve. Just look at his teammates in davis cup, they all copied from the same guy - Still their serves arent a 100% match.

Develop that technique into something you work the best with.

Remember to use the continental grip and follow through with it 'til the end. (Check at the end when you're training) and practice alot on the toss - Its the key to a good serve.
