Do you play the backhand with one hand or two?

Just to know MTF's amateur players better.

As for myself: right handed, two handed backhand (2HBH).

Was one handed until summer 2013. Made the switch to two handed and glad I did

Two handed. It's a total abortion of a shot but it's getting better. (btw any advice would be welcome)

Re: Do you play the backhand with one hand or two?

Had a two hander til junior year (was my better side at one point!), went absolutely to shit so that I netted it like half the time unless I sliced it, switched to a less powerful but more accurate one-hander

From 13 to 16 two handed. In the last 10 years - 1 handed, much better, more stable, more powerful, etc.

righty

I had a two-hander for 2 weeks but I switched then. Now my backhand gets a lot of praise and is better than many two-handers of players way above my level

2 hander, I have tried a 1 hander and I get more power on it, but less consistency.

Re: Do you play the backhand with one hand or two?

2 hander . My one hander is too erratic . I hit with a fairly flat topspin drive . Can hit very flat as well. With a grip change I can do very heavy topspin 2 hander but need to aim high over net and don't like to hit it . It's more consistent than my forehand I feel as my forehand is a bomb .

1 Hander, having been coached back in the 80s that was the only way to learn back then.
By contrast both of my kids have been trained with a 2 hander.
Can be used it as an attacking shot, but usually slice which is more defensive but effective.

Re: Do you play the backhand with one hand or two?

Can play both of them decently by amateurs standards but my one handed backhand slice is the only one i'm really comfortable with

LOL.... I used to have a OHBH, but switched to two when I developed tennis elbow and I wanted to avoid putting too much pressure on my right elbow.
