It's not as painful nowadays as it used to be when it was in its worst shape though.

After Nadal beat Monfils at Doha, before AO 2014

Only Del Potro can take him out before the semis, and he won't. Nadal is winning the AO, bet your house on it.
Somewhere out there, there is a homeless person who once took betting advice from GSMnadal

Re: Worst injury you've had?

Injured my ankle a 3 months ago. The best thing to do is to take proper precautions to transition from indoor to outdoor play. The key areas tennis players need to watch out for are the upper body, particularly the shoulders, wrists and elbows, and the lower body, especially the hamstrings, knees and Achilles. I found a great article below on how to avoid tennis injuries. Hope this helps.

Re: Worst injury you've had?

My worst injury ended in two surgeries (right shoulder and elbow) and now I have to play left handed.

But the reason I found this thread is because of my left ankle. I sprained in 3 months ago and it still feels as bad as when I first did it. Apparently (according to cat scans and x rays), there's no fracture or break but it sure is taking a while to heal.

You ought to look online for this e-book called "Ankle Sprain Solutions". I think like $15 for this e-booklet with all kinds of information and exercises to heal an ankle sprain. It really worked for me, mate.

Re: Worst injury you've had?

Tripped on paving, broke my knee and also tore the pcl. Took best part of a year to heal and I still have problems. Put my shoulder out three times so can no longer play any racquet sports as the back and across movement to smash the ball or shuttle invariably leads to the joint slipping out. Too painful and I'm not willing to keep going down that road much as I love playing.

Re: Worst injury you've had?

I jumped on my ankle after hitting a high backhand. Luckily it was "just" torn ankle ligaments.

Ahh... I should have told you earlier... best not to jump on your ankle! Try to land on your feet.
